GUEST LECTURE BY DR.WAMAE OF FARMERS CHOICE.

On April 2nd, 2026, the Department of Clinical Studieshad the honor of hosting Dr. Geofrey Wamai from Farmer’s Choice Limited as a guest lecturer. The session was attended by 4th and 5th Year Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine students, who benefited from Dr. Wamai’s expertise in the field of pig production and management.
The lecture, titled “Enhancing the Breeding Performance of Pigs”, focused on practical strategies to improve productivity, animal welfare, and sustainability in pig farming. Dr. Wamai highlighted key areas such as Nutrition, Breeding and Genetics:

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR BACHELORS OF VETERINARY MEDICINE STUDENTS BY HARDY VETERINARY CLINIC

On March 18th, 2026, Dr. Stephen Ndurumo of Hardy Veterinary Clinic held a mentorship session with  Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine students that bridged academic learning with real-world veterinary practice. His talk emphasized the importance of leadership, resilience, and service, reminding students that veterinary medicine is not only about clinical expertise but also about the responsibility to safeguard animal welfare and public health.

Vet Books for Africa Donates Books and Equipments to the Department of Clinical Studies

Vet Books for Africa, a body constituted by veterinary students from Pretoria University, South Africa, donated books and Microscopes including stereo microscopes (Dissecting microscopes) to the Department of Clinical Studies. This is through their partnership with the Department.

Visit by the CEO Tonix Pharmaceutical Holdings

The Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holdings Dr. Seth Lederman, the Director of project management Dr. Dawn Myscofski and the Kenya projects Manager Mr. Judah Arap Bett visited the Department of Clinical Studies on November 22, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress made and the challenges encountered in the Uasin Gishu Disease Virus project, which is led by Prof.
