65TH Graduation Ceremony – Friday, September 24, 2021

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2020/2021) and members of the public, that the 65th Graduation Ceremony will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, September 24, 2021 commencing at 8.00 a.m. at the Great Court. Official Launch of the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab

Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab program was launched officially on Monday 17th May 2021. A physical event was Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nairobi and virtually for participants based in the USA and Kenya. The Innovation lab will be based at the Department of Clinical Studies, College of Agriculture, and Veterinary Services-University of Nairobi.

Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Animal Health - Virtual Launch

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Animal Health is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and led by Washington State University in partnership with the University of Nairobi, the International Livestock Research Institute, among other partners. The program aims to improve human nutrition, economic welfare, and resilience by removing constraints to cattle health and production in Kenya and the East Africa region.

Visitors from Ukraine in the Department of Clinical Studies

Olena Nedryhailo and Olga Lubimova from Ukraine visited the Department of Clinical Studies on Monday April 26, 2021 courtesy of Dr. Anderson Gitari who is a practicing veterinarian. A meeting was held between them and the Chairman of the Department, Prof. James Nguhiu-Mwangi. The aim of the visit was to explore possible areas of collaboration with Veterinary Schools in the Ukraine Universities.

Donation and Issuance of Scrub Suits to 5th year Veterinary Students

The veterinary alumni of 1989 from the veterinary class that graduated in 1989, have consistently donated scrub suits to be used for veterinary work by the final year veterinary students during their clinical practical operations. The former Chairman of the Department, Prof. Daniel Gakuya who is one of this alumni, handed the scrub suits to the current Chairman of the Department on January 5, 2021 to be issued to the final year veterinary class of 2020/2021.
