Lecturers from Clinical Studies among multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder team that won a grant from the National Research Fund

We are delighted to announce that in line with Kenya’s vision of food security, a multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder team led by the University of Nairobi has won a grant from the National Research Fund. Kenya faces severe chronic food insecurity and poor nutrition. Improving food security and nutrition in Kenya requires renewed efforts through new farming technologies. Scholarship Opportunities for Students with Disabilities

Students who are living with disability are encouraged to apply for the 2 scholarships namely;  Programme for Evidence to Inform Disability Action(PENDA) and Development Pathways - Krystle Kabare Scholarship

Prof. Stephen Kiama formally installed as University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Stephen Kiama, has been officially installed as the eighth Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, taking over from Prof. Peter Mbithi. During his installation in Taifa Hall, Main Campus on June 5, 2020, Prof. Kiama promised to institute reforms and steer the ship during in the turbulent waters.

HANDING OVER OF THE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

The new Confucius Institute Building located on Arboretum Drive, has officially been handed over to the University of Nairobi. The ceremony was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Prof. George Magoha, who praised the good relationships between Beijing and Nairobi.

Constructed at a cost of 1.4Billion shillings, the new Confucius Building hosts a number of lecture halls, conference facilities, accommodation facilities, staff offices and Chinese Language research offices and language libraries.

UoN Conducts Examinations Remotely

The University of Nairobi has successfully conducted its first ever end of semester examinations online.

More than 20 students taking Master of Arts in Environmental Law and Master of Arts in Environmental Policy were able to sit for their examinations right from the comfort of their homes.

The university shifted to online examinations in order to provide students with options to complete their studies at a time when face-to-face exams are impossible to be held because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
