Launch of Animal Health, Molecular and Diagnostics laboratory

University of Nairobi's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine launched a state of the art Animal Health, Molecular and Diagnostics laboratory that's hosted by the Department of Clinical Studies. Changing the Food Security Narrative in Kenya

In August 2022, 50 UoN students drawn from the Faculty of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Biosystems Egineering will go to Israel for the 11-month experiential learning run by the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT).

Since 2017, The University of Nairobi has been priviledged to send over 90 students to Israel to learn by doing innovative and latest agricultural practices.

Annual Tree Planting and Growing Day

The University community and its partners gathered and planted 7000 tree seedlings on Friday, May 13, 2022, on the Annual Tree Planting and Growing Day.

Equity Group Foundation,County Government, National Government,  Shamba Café, Loresho Community and Association of Green champions joined the university to plant and grow trees.

 “We have been planting trees annually for as long as I can remember. When we plant a tree, we show that we have hope; Hope for a better tomorrow,” remarked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama during the official ceremony.

Donations to the Department of Clinical Studies

Donation of Specialized Scientific Microscope. The Department of Clinical Studies received a donation of One (1) ZEISS Axiolab 5 Scientific Microscope with specific associated Zeiss Camera and a large 32 inch LED TV Screen for viewing the microscopic images. The whole unit was purchased in France and delivered to the department on November 25, 2021 by Dr. Jeanne Mwakugu, the Scientific Communications Manager from ROYAL CANIN, Nairobi. This Microscope will facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research.

Department of Clinical Studies and Royal Canin Partnership

The partnership between the Department of Clinical Studies and Royal Canin has continued to be strengthened through various activities since 2019. Recently on November 25, 2021, Royal Canin donated a state of the art and the latest Zeiss Axiolab digital microscrope with accompanying camera and a high resolution screen.
