One Health Workforce - Next Generation (OHW-NG), in collaboration with AFROHUN Kenya, invites current students to the One Health App Development Challenge.
One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) is an international network of eleven public health, ten veterinary higher education institutions, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences being among them.
One Health Workforce - Next Generation (OHW-NG), in collaboration with AFROHUN Kenya, invites current students to the One Health App Development Challenge.
Objective of this challenge:
To develop an App that can be used by front line community workers in addressing challenges at the interface of human, animal and environmental health.
What we are looking for:
1. Novelty of the idea – originality and uniqueness of the idea and/or solution.
2. Impact – an idea or solution that addresses public health challenges using a One Health approach; an app that can be easily deployed for use; Addressing the current COVID-19 pandemic will be an added advantage.
3. Team Constitution – A team comprised of multidisciplinary members beyond current disciplines and schools involved in One Health this include but are not limited to students pursuing: Veterinary Medicine, Public Health, Environmental science, Nursing, Social sciences, Computer Sciences, Agriculture etc.
4. Feasibility – feasible in implementation of the proof of concept or idea; ease of deploying the App; an app that will be user friendly in navigation & use; cost effectiveness to the users; considerations of potential challenges (including resource limitations); scalability of the app.
