Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

University of Nairobi's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine launched a state of the art Animal Health, Molecular and Diagnostics laboratory that's hosted by the Department of Clinical Studies. The Lab is a collaborative initiative between the University of Nairobi and Washington State University through the Feed the Future programme. In his opening speech, the Vice Chancellor Prof.

In August 2022, 50 UoN students drawn from the Faculty of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Biosystems Egineering will go to Israel for the 11-month experiential learning run by the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT).

Since 2017, The University of Nairobi has been priviledged to send over 90 students to Israel to learn by doing innovative and latest agricultural practices.

The University community and its partners gathered and planted 7000 tree seedlings on Friday, May 13, 2022, on the Annual Tree Planting and Growing Day.

Equity Group Foundation,County Government, National Government,  Shamba Café, Loresho Community and Association of Green champions joined the university to plant and grow trees.

 “We have been planting trees annually for as long as I can remember. When we plant a tree, we show that we have hope; Hope for a better tomorrow,” remarked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama during the official ceremony.

Students pursuing veterinary sciences will benefit from a collaboration between the University of Nairobi and Cosmos Pharmaceutical following the signing of a collaborative agreement.

The fifth-year Veterinary students celebrated their 2019 dinner at the Department of Clinical Studies. Such special gatherings are present an invaluable opportunity for students to meet and network with their lecturers and alumni.
