STUDENT AFFAIRS:

  1. Student organization
  • UNSA – University of Nairobi Student Association. This forms the students’ government to deal with matters affecting all students. It is an approved and a constitutionally established organization with constitutionally elected office holders at any given time.
  • VSA-Veterinary Students Association – Deals with Matters of Veterinary Students among themselves and has office holders.
  1. Student services
  • Chaplaincy services- Staffed with religious leaders including Protestant, Catholic and Muslim to cater for religious needs, advice and counselling of students. The chaplaincy services oversee religious activities of students falling under the three umbrella bodies mentioned above. Full information on Chaplaincy services can be obtained from the office of Dean of Students, University of Nairobi.

  • University Health Services: Main Campus off State House Road and are open 24 hours daily. Satellite clinic for Faculty of Veterinary Medicine students: Upper Kabete open from 8.00am to 5.00 pm. Nights and weekend for emergencies.
  • Support services available in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Contact Dean of the Faculty, Faculty Registrar, Any of the Chairmen of Departments of Clinical Studies, Veterinary Public Health and Toxicology, Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology, Animal Production  or Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Important information to international students joining Faculty of Veterinary Medicine programmes:
  • Orientation to the campus and departments; secure housing locations; security precautions; where to shop for essentials; transportation to and from the city.
    • Undergraduate students- contact the Dean of Faculty or Faculty Registrar or Senior Administrative Assistant in the Dean’s office
