Appeal for support of UON needy students fund Appeal for support of UON needy students fund

The Office of the Dean of Students has received numerous requests for support from our needy students to help them cope with life and learning at home during this Covid-19 period. A team from the Office of the Dean of Students met and brainstormed on the various students’ needs, how to meet the needs and how to logistically distribute the support received.

The team identified three key needs that students require support in:

§  Material needs – food and nonfood items

§  Technological needs – smart phones, tablets and laptops for eLearning

§  Financial needs – school fees and money for upkeep

Join us in supporting the UoN Needy Students Fund by donating material items or sending your donation to purchase a care package through

Guidelines on Research Licensing and Institutional Affiliation

he Science, Technology and Innovation (Research Licensing Regulations, 2014) Legal Notice No. 108 5(2) states that a foreign researcher applying for a license shall be affiliated to a local relevant institution.

In this regard, The National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) has developed Guidelines on Research Licensing and Institutional Affiliation, (attached herewith) as a reference document for the stakeholders; affiliating institutions and especially those intending to undertake scientific Research within the Kenyan territory.

The University Library's VIRTUAL open week is underway from today, 23rd to 25th June 2020 . This event is strictly for Staff and Students of the University of Nairobi.

The theme of the Open Week is “University of Nairobi Library Designing Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge”. This occasion is geared towards promoting Library services so as to enhance access and utilization of information resources.

Being a VIRTUAL event, the Library will have online interactive sessions with participants through Google meet platform to showcase innovative library services. Participants who may not have time to attend the LIVE sessions can access the recorded Version on the Library website.
