Postgraduates graduating in 2020:

Shepelo Getrude Peter

Graduated with PhD in Clinical Studies in December 2020 at the University of Nairobi. Dr. Shepelo Getrude Peter is currently a Tutorial Fellow at the Department of Clinical Studies. She holds a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine (BVM), a Masters degree in Veterinary Medicine (Mvetmed). She received the university of Nairobi scholarship to pursue her masters degree where she investigated on the prevalence and risk factors associated with Eimeria, Cryptosporidia, Strongyloides and Giardia infections in calves in smallholder dairy farms in Nyeri County. She is also a fellow at the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) from where she received funding and mentorship for her PhD research work in additional to DAAD scholarship that she had received. She has authored and co-authored publications in peer reviewed journals. Her research interests are on molecular diagnosis and epidemiology of tick-borne and zoonotic diseases in livestock.

Wilson Kuria Kimani

Graduated with Master of Veterinary Surgery (MVetSurg) in December 2020 at the University of Nairobi. Wilson is a Tutorial Fellow at the University of Nairobi (February 2020 to date), Clinical Studies Department. I hold a Bachelors degree of veterinary medicine (BVM). Am a registered veterinary surgeon by the Kenya Veterinary Board and a member of Kenya Veterinary Association with a 5 year experience in the profession. .
Am currently pursuing Equine surgery academic career and hoping to work on welfare of donkeys; as they are an integral part of livelihood of some communities in Kenya.

Zahra Mamujee Zulfikar

Graduated with Master of Veterinary Surgery (MVetSurg) in December 2020 at the University of Nairobi. She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) (University of Nairobi). She is a Veterinary Private Practitioner operating from Village Market Limuru Road, Nairobi.

Edward Njenga Njoroge

Graduated with a Master of Veterinary Theriogenology (MVetTherio) in December 2020 at University of Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) (University of Nairobi. He was a brilliant undergraduate student who won several academic awards. He is a Veterinary Private Practitioner operating from Kikuyu area.

Bangar Nikhil Sopan

Graduated with Master of Science in Wildlife Health and Management in September 2020 at University of Nairobi. He graduated from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India with Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc &AH). He has participated in much volunteer work of wildlife in India. His MSc thesis was titled “Faecal Cortisol Levels as a Measure of Stress in Captive Spotted Deer (Axis axis) and Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) in Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Pune, India.”
