Mbugua Susan

Professor of ophthalmology

Professor Mbugua has lectured to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Small Animal Surgery in the Clinical Studies Department or many years. She has supervised several students in the department at Masters and PhD levels. She has been an External Examiner in Sokoine, Tanzania, Makerere, Uganda and the University of Zimbabwe. She specializes in small animal ophthalmology, orthopaedics, neurology and has a special interest in nutrition of dogs and cats and has published widely in the field of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. As the chairperson of the Canine Hip Dysplasia Committee of the Kenya Veterinary Board Prof. Mbugua is in the forefront of encouraging breeders to breed out this condition which causes crippling debilitation to the dog population in Kenya and worldwide
