Brief History

The department of clinical studies is one of the 7 departments of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and is located within the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Kabete. It is made up of two service units, the large animal and the small animal units. The Clinical Faculty number is 31 with professional expertise in ambulatory services, internal medicine, anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery and theriogenology. A support staff of 28 complements the functions of the faculty. The core function of the department is to educate and train veterinary surgeons, conduct research and provide clinical services. The Department is divided into three major sections namely: Medicine, Surgery and Theriogenology.
