Peter Kimeli, a tutorial fellow at the Department of Clinical Studies- University of Nairobi, was officially awardedThe Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Graduate Scholarship during the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) Fall Awards and Recognition Night held on 4th October 2017 at University of Prince Edward (UPEI), Canada. The scholarship will support his training at the Doctoral level to pursue animal welfare research at the UPEI. Peter will undertake his research in Kenya with special focus on dairy calf welfare under the supervision of Prof. John VanLeeuwen.The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre advances animal welfare through a broad array of initiatives in research, service, and education to improve the lives of animals.
