Lion Club International and the University of Nairobi participated in a successful tree planting exercise that had more than 3000 tree seedlings and 20,000 tree seeds planted by Lion’s Club guests, university staff members and students.
Speaking during the event, the guest of honor, Dr Vijoo Rattansi, applauded the move and promised more partnerships and development activities between the University of Nairobi and the Lion Club International. In her capacity as the University’s Chancellor, she took the opportunity to warmly welcome Lion’s Club guests and encouraged University students to join the Club and actively participate in its social development activities.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, thanked all the participants in their efforts to ensure a cleaner and greener environment. He also congratulated CAVS for being excellent hosts.
CAVS acting principal, Prof. Charles Mulei, guaranteed his support to all activities that are geared towards conservation of the environment. Several members of Department of Clinical Studies participated in the event led by Prof. Gakuya, the Head of Department.
